The Organizing Committee of the Havana International Ballet Festival "Alicia Alonso" announces the cancellation of
the 27th edition of this event, one of the oldest and most prestigious in the world of dance.
This decision has been made due to the fragile situation of the performing arts at a global level as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the travel and social contact restrictions derived from it, and with the purpose of safeguarding the health of artists and audiences.
The celebration of the Centennial of Alicia Alonso, planned within the framework of the Festival, is postponed until the end of this year, on dates closer to the anniversary of her birth, on December 21.
The 27th edition of the Festival will be held in 2022, on the same dates announced in 2020.
